Medical Transcription Training Course for Non-Medical Students (MTTC-NMS) - a 6-month course
This course is designed for aspiring medical transcriptionists with no previous medical or allied background. The course, combined with the latest training methods, covers appropriate tools needed to prepare him or her for a medical transcription career. In a period of 6 months, the student shall have a solid background on the English grammar, and have a structured familiarization with medical terminology along with the specifics of transcription. He shall also be oriented with ethics and proper MT practices.
At the end of the program, this course aims to enable the student to be equipped for a high quality medical transcription career. Armed with experience in comprehensive hands-on practices, he shall be able to apply the medical terminologies, and produce reports from audio transcriptions with an excellent command of the English language.
Medical Transcription Training Course for Medical Students (MTTC-MS) - a 3-month course
This complete course is designed for aspiring medical transcriptionists with previous medical or allied background. The aspirant must be already familiar with medical terminologies, branches of science, diagnoses, medical procedures, and the like. Over a period of 3 months, intensive reviews and tests on medical terminology, and anatomy shall be taken. He shall also be oriented with ethics and proper MT practices and focus on basic grammar and accent neutralization.
Upon completion, this course aims to highly refine the skills of the student as an MT. He shall be able to effectively meet the challenges in a medical transcription environment.
Medical Coding Training Course (MCTC) - a 3-month training course
The 3-month comprehensive training course aims to equip aspiring medical coders with the basic systems and processes of a dynamic career in the field of medical coding. Simply defined as translating medical diagnoses and procedures into universal medical code numbers, medical coding as a career requires necessary training as accuracy and speed in assigning codes to medical documents power up the health information industry from which hospitals, doctors and healthcare providers totally rely on.
While this industry promises big bucks, education and training play a vital role in obtaining a high-entry level salary. The potential income of a medical coder largely depend on his training and experience, with this in mind, this training will therefore focus on the correct coding practices, ethics and tools based on the universally accepted coding standards using state-of the-art technology.
Upon completion of the course, the would-be MC is expected to be oriented with all the standard medical codes based on ICD-9-CM or International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision, Clinical Modification.
